The television adaptation of Off Campus has brought Elle Kennedy’s bestselling hockey romance series to life, complete with campus drama, romantic entanglements, and charming hockey players. While the internet has spent weeks putting Hannah Wells’ wardrobe on trial, the men of Briar U have largely escaped scrutiny. Perhaps that’s because their wardrobes are built from a collection of uncomplicated menswear staples: rugby shirts, hoodies, varsity jackets, and worn-in jeans that have seen more than a few semesters.
The appeal isn’t that any of it is particularly groundbreaking. The guys of Off Campus dress like generations of college athletes before them, which seems to be part of the attraction. Trends come and go, but a good jean jacket and a hoodie remain undefeated.
Here’s how to borrow from the boys of Briar U.
Garrett Graham: Classic Collegiate
As the most laid-back member of the Briar crew, Tucker dresses accordingly. Retro sweaters, denim jackets, easy hoodies, relaxed denim, and vintage-inspired graphic tees. Nothing flashy or complicated, but pieces that work for class, practice or nowhere in particular.
Dean Di Laurentis: Athletic Ease
Dean spends a fair amount of time shirtless, but when he does get dressed, he sticks to the classics: sleeveless tees, hoodies, cropped work jackets, and easy denim. Less prep-school polish than some of his teammates, his style leans rugged, relaxed, and perfectly suited to his surfer-blond flow.
John Logan: Workwear Cool
As the most rugged member of the Briar crew, Logan gravitates toward clothes that feel practical and lived in with Carhartt jackets, faded denim shirts, utility shirts, and hoodies that have clearly survived a few seasons. It’s the sort of wardrobe that improves with age and looks best with a little wear and tear. Grab a classic bandana if you’re feeling adventurous.
John Tucker: Reliable Classics
As the most laid-back member of the Briar crew, Tucker dresses accordingly. Retro sweaters, denim jackets, easy hoodies, relaxed denim, and vintage-inspired graphic tees. Nothing flashy or complicated, but pieces that work for class, practice or nowhere in particular.
Hunter Davenport: Modern Prep
Hunter brings a slightly more refined take on collegiate style, with outfits that look borrowed from a particularly good era of Ralph Lauren. Striped rugby shirts, crisp polos, white canvas sneakers, and classic prep staples make regular appearances. He’s a throwback jock who wears prep well.
